About Us!
The Little Learners Early Childhood Center is available children for children 3-5 years of age. This program also serves South LaPorte County Special Education Cooperative students that live within New Prairie, La Porte, Tri-Township, South Central, or Westville districts who have been evaluated and determined to be eligible for preschool special education services.
- There will be no charge for the program (other than the registration fee for the 25/26 school year) for students who reside inside the LPCSC district.
- Special Education students who are eligible may also receive services from Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Autism Consultants, Behavior Consultants.

2026 Early Release Days at Little Learners
This information applies only to students who attend on Wednesday afternoons. If your child does not attend on Wednesday afternoons, early release days will not affect your child's schedule.
La Porte Community School Corporation has scheduled eight early release days for the 2026-27 school year. Once a month, afternoon classes are not in session so staff can collaborate and take part in professional development.
Early release dates
Early release days fall on the second Wednesday of the month, September through April:
- Wednesday, Sept. 9
- Wednesday, Oct. 14
- Wednesday, Nov. 11
- Wednesday, Dec. 9
- Wednesday, Jan. 13
- Wednesday, Feb. 10
- Wednesday, March 10
- Wednesday, April 14
Morning programming
All morning programming runs as usual on early release days, with dismissal at 10:30 a.m.
Afternoon preschool (3s and PreK)
Afternoon preschool is not in session on early release days. Students do not attend the noon to 3 p.m. session. Classroom teachers will send home a packet of at-home activities for students to complete and return to school.
Transitional Kindergarten
TK students are dismissed at 12:30 p.m. and must be picked up at the usual pick-up door, Door 6. Families of TK students who use special transportation will be contacted directly if a dismissal time changes.
